not getting Stolen Sunspear Armour? buy or continue farming?
So, im new and I want to buy 1 more SSA to complete my HOM achievement but After collecting my 3rd SSA from the Challenge Mission in Dahjka Inlet I cant seem to get anymore. I've looked around and it seems like everyone has been getting the same result. I was wondering how much they are going for now and where I can buy them. Im playing Night Fall right now.
cheers! |

Your best bet for buying most things is Kamadan in an America English District.
As for stopping getting them, this wasn't the case for me; I got 8-9, enough to kit a lot of my heroes quite easily. Try swapping characters, maybe that will reset it. Stolen Sunspear Armors normally sell for 5-7k but you don't often see sellers so it might be faster, and significantly more fun, for you to try the challenge mission again. |

They're usually sold in Kamadan for 5 - 10K.

Most farmers don't bother with SSAs because they are so easy to farm. It is vastly easer and quicker to farm them than trying to buy them.

but i cant seem to find them at all. This is wat I do, I fight the first 3 bosses because when I hit the 4th one I keep running out of time. Then I rinse and repeat. But now the first 3 bosses dont drop them anymore lol. Am I doing something wrong? I am really new so I dont know how to spec my heros properly. that is why I use the NPC heroes to help me out as well. |

Either use another character, or give it a week. Alternatively, try a human party if you can get one. I find droprate goes to hell for a while after the first 3 or 4.

Btw if you think you had bad luck - i tried the challenge in realm of torment for that type of armor pieces and after 3 runs ( yes i know not many ) i gave up with having zero pieces in total - does sort of put you off doing it tbh. |

As Spiritz said you're doing nothing wrong, it's just that you drop considerably less each time you do it and there's a huge gap between the first and second time. Just relax, let time pass and do it again some other time.

So no worries, if your heroes are lvl 20 then they'll have max armor (unless you equipp them with runes and insignias ofc, which is even better). http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hero_armor As for the SSA, I suggest you just buy it if you're getting bored of unluckyness. If not, then why not continue, you'll get it eventually. Maybe try to perfect your team and get longer and longer runtimes? |

To Goobus, supposedly the armor drop rate increases as your time in the mission increases, but that's probably BS. So long as you score somewhere above 50-100, armors should be dropping for you. The drop rate shouldn't get that low until your 4th or 5th armor.

^_^ thanks for the help!!!! It really worked. By the time i got to the 3rd boss I had around 56 points and thats where I got another armor piece. Then I got to the 4th boss I had around 70points and that got me another piece of armor. I had to go different paths to get more points too. =D lol now I can finally move on with the story without being annoyed. I had to rebuild my team and swap heroes around though, otherwise I wouldnt have gotten very far.

Do I understand that you only need ONE stolen Sunspear armour to fancy up a hero's looks?
If so - woohoo! I've been using the Inlet challenge quest to mess around with different builds for both me and heroes because you get such a diverse bunch of enemies. I'm doing pretty good on the not dying part at this point, but I still get lost sometimes trying to find the portals, so I've never gotten all of them down yet (yeah, I know that's pathetic, it's my biggest problem with missions, too). I thought you needed five of the things for one hero outfit, so I've been banking them. If I was mistaken, please let me know, and I'll go spiff up a few heroes! |

One remains -> one hero. However, not every hero can use the armour remains from Dajkah Inlet.

Go spiff them up 1 per hero needed, however can only do some of them not all, see details on the wiki.

Wow, I'm glad I looked up and found this thread... I had a friend tell me that the best way to do this was to "kill the first guy, reset, kill the first guy, reset, etc,etc..."
I thought that sounded too easy... no wonder I haven't seen ANYTHING drop. Also, is there any difference in droprate between normal and hard mode that has been observed? |

I'm fairly new to the game, and just started taking a crack at this a week or two ago, and I have to say, I'm getting a little worn out. I just hit level 20 the other day, and I must've run this 20 or so times, and I've only gotten 1. It probably isn't helping that I can't beat more than the first 2, but still, the drop rate appears to be abysmal. Buying them is out of the question, I only have 1 platnium to my name - does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like there has to be something I'm doing wrong.

play a bit more and get more skills for your heroes (if you are just using those), come back after you have done more of the missions and quests.

Thanks for the advice - though I'm having a little trouble with that too... I'm currently on the Kondonur Crossroads mission, and I keep dying to a group that has 2 priests. Even with several interrupt abilities.

do you know how to ping an enemy's, interupting isn't enough. but if your interupt one priests healing and the hero's are pinged to attack the other he prolly goes down. when the first is down you should be okay.
